Autumn

It has been some time since I have posted a note here...

Well it is Autumn, my favorite time of the year. I love the chilly mornings with a good amount of rain (gotta love Pittsburgh). (: The colors presented by Autumn and the atmosphere brings me utter and complete joy. That kind of joy that you can take in for hours and in time bring you to tears due to its beauty. 

I simply love this time of year (:

I am sitting here planning out decorating ideas and listening to some good country music (: 
It's a good night.

God created one amazingly beautiful world, he truly did.   

I hope you all are enjoying to beauty of this season. And if you somehow have yet to see it, I urge you to take sometime and take in the beauty it will bring you joy, I promise. Take time to enjoy the moment that you have.

Equality

It's been on my heart a lot the way that we treat on another in this world. Everything is about status and money and appearance...what you have and don't have...getting the newest most updated product(s)....it's about self. But what truly matters. In the end what are you really achieving. When you get old will you truely be happy with the life you lived?

God gave me a heart to hurts when I see those in pain or those in need, and I want to make more of a statement with what God has given me. We in this world need to open our eyes to those that are hurting, because what are we really doing to help? If we aren't living it then we are just talking about it and what will talking do if there is no action. The greed that fills so many individuals up is sad and unfortunate! We are so focused on 'me me me' that we have little time to look that those that barely living, where as we are focused on obtaining the newest iphone. Why?

1 Corinthians 8:13-15
"Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality, as it is written "He who gathered much did not have too much, and he gathered little did not have too little."

Hope

Graduation is less than a month for me (May 14th) and I will officially be done with my work load May 3rd. Lately the pressure of finishing the work has been overriding the excitement of finishing college. Though through all this craziness, I am grateful that I serve an amazing and loving God. It is so easy to get distracted and take my eyes off God and place them upon my work and  begin to worry. But thankfully God calms my soul and brings me the peace I need when things get crazy and I begin to doubt, he reassures me that I can do all things when he is first in my life. I am so grateful that I am not alone and that I have an amazing, peaceful, loving, strong and wise God. 

Matthew 11:28-30
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take me yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

This past week I lost focus of my hope, and placed it on school. How quickly the storm came, but I began to pray and listen to God...


Romans 5:5
"And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us."

The storm is passing. God gives me hope, and in him my heart becomes secure. I am thankful that he shows and teaches me how to trust. God gives my life meaning, and him alone.

......By the way I am SO happy that it is spring; seeing blooming flowers everywhere!!

Thankful, Joyful, Crazy .... Saturday


Well I'm still reading, writing and working on my papers but....

Spent sometime today just hanging out with a friend, finding joy in the simple things.

We meet up to study but rather talked about God and really how amazing he is. We feed the birds, (well Christina did) I enjoyed the amount of birds that joined us at the park (: The best part was laying down on the grass gazing at the sky and taking comfort in how big God is. Ahhh So GREAT!!!

Now I'm at the te cafe (if you live or ever visit Pittsburgh check this place out!!) Enjoying wonderful apricot black tea, reading statistics (oh, such fun ha!), and listening to Tegan & Sara (:

The Little Things

Philippians 4:4-13

I am striving to find joy in the little things.
Being that I have a massive amount of work to and begin this week and finish by the end of April (so I can graduate...yay (: ), I am trying to ease my soul and remind myself it's just work. Stressing about it will not make it get done any faster or at that, help me get it done any faster. One of my very good friends Kirstin sent me a note on stress. Here it is:


Kirstin is such an amazing and great friend! I was encouraged when I received this (: I want to encourage you all out there to slow down and take to heart each of your days, they will be gone before you even realize it, so I urge you to slow down and enjoy them! My prayer is that you appreciate life in its entirely.

...I like "don't rely on your memory write things down" haha...I've been doing that I A LOT lately. I have a little book my roommate Terra gave me, and I have been written down the things to do once graduated (:

At this moment I'm simply enjoying the day at hand. Sitting outside enjoying the sun (that just came out) and life...while I complete a paper. I feel at peace sitting outside and while typing this paper ... simply finding joy in doing so (:

Malaysia

So this summer I have the opportunity to be able to serve in Malaysia on a mission team, I will be there for three weeks volunteering my time and helping others in a hospital in need, while helping them to know God and how amazing and wonderful he is. I am asking for your help in this mission trip.

First, prayer is needed! Please pray for our efforts and time while in Malaysia!
Second, if you can donate anything that would be wonderful and extremely appreciated!


Sending Thoughts


Yet another night, up late writing papers. But I'm content with the fact.

Today was such a great day (: Started off with my friend Kirstin coming over and spending some wonderful time her. I am so grateful for the friendships that God has given me. Kirstin is such a great friend and her love is inspiring! I had the joy to just spend the time with her this morning talking together, while learning more about God, and praying together. I am just grateful for her friendship, I am grateful for her in my life (:
Then the day followed with going to this amazing place in Pittsburgh called construction junction. If you live in Pittsburgh or come to visit you have to check this place out. I love it! I feel like a little kid when I enter this warehouse, it is filled of wonderful gadgets and old vintage building materials. I love places like this that find such amazing and creative ways to reuse and in a way recycle rather than throwing away older materials. Brings me joy (:

I was able to go grocery shopping, ahhhh so happy about that!! Money has been tight every month, only leaving bills to be paid. I am so grateful for the roommates I have and their sharing, giving hearts. I'm so thankful that I even had the money to make rent and other bills (: But today I was able to go to whole foods and get some yummy food! While their I ran into my friend Chace and spent sometime talking about God (:

As I came back home, excited about what I was returning with I began to clean, sing songs and garden a bit, which was great!! Then my roommate Terra walked in, our schedules are quite different so I don't get to see her as often as I wish I could. But we spent most of the evening catching up on our lives as she made dinner and I made some dark choloate oatmeal cookies (:

Today was a good day!

Every week I will be updating with something from the book that we are reading together as a church called "Forgotten God" by Francis Chan. I definitely recommend you check this book out, it's amazing and I'm only a chapter in!

Red Balloons

Today the beauty of spring is pushing it's way through the winter air here in Pittsburgh. As I was walking through my campus today and saw the tulips popping through the ground! So exciting, I can't wait to see wild flowers growing everywhere. It shall all come within time, but as for now I'm grateful to be wearing just a hoodie to stay warm.

I love this video! I really enjoy Anathallo's music, it's so beautiful. Please, if you have never hear of them please please go listen they are absolutely wonderful (:

I love the fields this video. They are so beautiful. I want to jump right into the video, lie in the field and fix my eyes upon the sky; having the red balloons would make that all just so complete. The storm is passing over...

Today while I was at work, I was getting a drink for someone I was waiting on (I'm a waitress) and began to watch the news....well the weather news. I was more so bored and just stared up at the television to fill the boredom and boom it did.....the weather news (I know weird wording) brought me some very very very encouraging news! The beep beep beep signal came on the television to alert views that so and so counties are under a thunderstorm warning. Ah I was so excited, I love LOVE rain so much but thunderstorms are just so beautiful!  

As I was leaving work tonight, there was no sign of the weather they predicted, but then a few baby raindrops feel from the sky. I shouted YES rather loudly (: I got to my car, and sat there for a while...didn't start the car, didn't say anything, but just sat there and looked at the dark sky as the rain started to increase and pound upon my car. I sat there for some time...sat and smiled. I am so thankful for all the rainy days. But I need some good rain boots, I started thinking about this as I drove home. It rains quite often in Pittsburgh, and I seem to never be prepared, shoe wise, for the weather, despite the fact that I have lived here forever.

In other news I was in Virginia last weekend for a retreat, it was such a great retreat. The weekend was full of joy and learning...focused on God. Many memories, from the ride down, from being there, and to the ride back home. (:

First

Well hello all (:

I had the honor of spending the afternoon/evening with my youngest sister Hayley. On Tuesday's I have the duty of getting her off the bus and then spending sometime with her until our mom gets home. I love spending time with Hayley, she brings an instant smile to my face. She is 19 (which she just turned yesterday!!) and has a syndrome called Rett Syndrome which means she has the mentality of a baby. Check out this Site to learn more about the syndrome. Hayley is truly a blessing and brings me complete joy. I love her unconditionally and I know that I get the same love in return from her (: I thank God for having her in my life.

 As I was leaving the house to return to my apartment I looked up at the sky, which is sooooo much clearer than where I live which is closer to the city, and the stars were absolutely breath taking. I am honestly so grateful for my apartment and my awesome roommates but one day hope to be living somewhat further away from the city and closer to the country side so I can see the sky come alive at night without street lights (:
